close-up of Katelyn MitchellKatelyn Mitchell Horan M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD is a certified and licensed Speech-Language pathologist based in New York City where she grew up. She started her career as a preschool teacher after earning her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of South Carolina. She taught in both pre-k and young 4s classrooms at York Avenue Preschool from 2013-2016. While teaching, she recognized a desire to delve deeper into the therapeutic side of child development. She attended Katz School of Science and Health at Yeshiva University to complete her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology. Since graduating, she has worked in multiple settings with children ages 1-14. In addition to her private clients, she has also been a provider for both preschool and school age students through the NYC DOE. Her experience ranges from receptive-expressive language delays, articulation disorders, hearing impairments, multiple diagnoses, ASD, late-talkers, childhood apraxia of speech, working memory deficits, executive functioning, and cerebral palsy. When she is not working, Katelyn enjoys cooking, watching movies, and especially spending time with her husband and son.
