Gil Fire M.S., CCC-SLP, TSSLD is a certified and licensed English and Hebrew speaking Speech-Language pathologist for children and adults. Gil has worked for Silver Speech Services part-time since 2015 to provide interactive activities and scaffold articulation, expressive-receptive language, and social pragmatics deficits, as well as multilingual language acquisition to children. However, since earning her license, she began working with Marci Silver for Silver Speech as a full-time speech-language therapist to provide collaborative and client-centered therapy to the pediatric population for articulation, receptive-expressive language, oral motor, pragmatics as well as bilingual therapy at home and school settings. Prior to earning her graduate degree from New York University for Communicative Sciences and Disorders, she was previously certified by the DOE as a K-5 classroom and substitute teacher where she learned ways to utilize school curriculum and incorporate creative teaching methods, strategies, and tools, to generate an active learning environment. She was also previously employed as a speech pathologist at a subacute inpatient rehab where she conducted comprehensive evaluations, led aphasia and dysphagia therapy. Exposure to research and clinical training revealed a localized interest in traumatic brain injury treatment with a focus on cognitive-linguistic therapy including executive functioning, working and short-term memory deficits, agraphia, alexia, and expressive-receptive language as well as an interest with Down Syndrome, ASD, and CAS population. When she is not working, Gil loves cooking, making ceramics, traveling, and visiting NYC pizzerias!
